MAINTENANCE OF WAY
Since the creation of Arkansas Missouri Railroad Company in 1986, over a quarter of a million crossties have been installed over our 140 miles of trackage. In 1998, approximately 25,000 tons of ballast was spread on the south end of the railroad. This ballast project covered forty-eight miles, which represents the majority of the joint rail on the property and in the area of our ruling 2.67 grade.

After the ballast project was completed, a surfacing program was put in place using the railroad's equipment and personnel. Further improvements were performed on the south end by leasing a rail mounted self-propelled track hoe to improve the drainage where feasible bridges were removed and replaced with culverts.
