ARKANSAS MISSOURI RAILROAD MARKETING
Several Arkansas Missouri Railroad customers have closed down resulting in a loss of business. The good news though is we have picked up new business to offset most of our losses. In the past three years, we have lost 10,000 cars per year of feed and grain. However, we have balanced those loses by adding 8,000 new cars per year from miscellaneous new customers.

By September we will have three new customers on line who could give us about 2,500 cars per year. There are also four potential customers who may be moving into our area to be served by Arkansas Missouri Railroad. Our marketing department meets two times a week to discuss existing customers, and the status of pending new customers. Then we look at other opportunities that may bring in more business to Arkansas Missouri Railroad.

Twice a year we have seminars with special guest speakers to discuss certain topics that deal with importing and exporting of bulk commodities and how they affect the businesses and industries of Northwest Arkansas, and the local economy. The results from these meetings have produced more business for Arkansas Missouri Railroad and have created extra jobs for local communities.

It also gives people a chance to voice their own opinions on changes they would like, or get answers on things that they may not understand. We are always looking for ways to bring in more business.
