As most people know, the railroad industry, of necessity, requires its workers to maintain a higher degree of diligence to assure safe and efficient operations as compared to most occupations. Whether its coupling multi-ton moving rail cars, replacing railroad car wheels, or inserting ties, the risk of crippling injuries lurks nearby. Only a constant awareness and adherence to safe operating practices, regardless if they seem time-consuming, keeps this risk at bay. We salute all of our employees who make the A&M a safe place to work. In particular, we recognize 11 of our operating employees who are truly the Safety Leaders of the A&M. Each one has worked at least five years with no time off due to injuries. Cumulatively, these employees have amassed over two work lifetimes (117 years) of working with no time off due to injuries.
